Sumika Ichinohe (26) was growing weary of her monotonous desk job. One day, she comes across a notice that reads, “Caution: Crocodiles Ahead!” This turns out to be a “puzzle” that draws her into an extraordinary world. As she solves each puzzle, Sumika’s expressions gradually soften.
When walking around the city, we often come across various signs—some indicate restricted areas, while others simply say things like “Dog.” I thought it would be interesting if these kinds of signs were part of a puzzle, and that idea became the inspiration for this work.
Additionally, as someone working in society myself, I sometimes find my daily life monotonous. The concept of this film was born from the idea that taking a small detour or pause could help refresh one’s mood.
I would be delighted if viewers of this work come away thinking, “Maybe it’s okay to take a little detour once in a while.”
